Health food that makes us fat!

The statement should be wrong

The controversy is that marketing can sell us anything as health food. Even something that we truly believe is doing us good, is making us fat.

So if you wonder who holds the power in the health food industry (organic) apart from the fast food chains they are talking about, like Subway brainwashing “LOW FAT”ads and commercials.

I am a fan of MindBodyGreen on Facebook. This morning there was a post based on Kris CarrPh information. A graph explaining PH-value

I found  the chart to be insufficient but in the comments below was a more detailed list of PH-value; Based on Back to the house of health which is a website with abundance of information related to PH value and alkaline food.

I could not copy the list as a picture here is the whole list, I took out some of the values that I thought were interesting. I was surprised that lime and lemon are alkaline opposed to  oranges that are acidic. Meat is the worst when trying to avoid acidic foods. I was surprised by the acidic value of hard cheese. I already knew that milk was acidic and straining the calcium storage of the body.  Like all animal protein, milk acidifies the body PH. I did however not know that the cheese was this acidic. Artificial sweeteners are the worst of all sweeteners, one more reason to avoid them!

The eating well challenge

I am on a road trip, that means keeping my healthy habits is going to be a challenge. Every time I stray off my routine it is challenging to eat well and rest properly. But this time I decided that I was going to make a huge effort. I have my blender with me, all my vitamins, the protein powder, the oils, the chia seeds. All were packed and are joining me on the trip.

The hardest part is to keep the refrigerated things ok, but it is going quite well.I have a good stock with me because the next time I will find a whole foods store is probably after 5 day´s in New York.

It is really about the ME time, putting us first

I was talking to a friend about this, and recalling the oxygen-mask story. The oxygen mask theory is basically based on the things the stewardess say´s before takeoff. If the oxygen in the plane drops put the mask on you first and then assist the child.

It is pretty basic, if we do not take care of ourselves, we are in no shape to take care of others.

The education on GMO is insufficient in the USA

 I am proud of the Polish  bee farmers  and their accomplishments to agriculture.

Poland is the first country to formally acknowledge the link between Monsanto’s genetically engineered corn and the Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) that’s been devastating bees around the world. What that means is that bees have been disappearing. If the bees disappear we are in big trouble because of their important role in pollination. And who has bought the leading research company for CCD? Well you guessed it! Monsanto

I saw this trailer on the film”Queen of the sun“. The film is about the  disappearance of the bees. It is very interesting and frightening at the same time. This is what the Colony Collapse Disorder is about.

What that has to do with GMO? Well,  in America there are no requirements to label GMO foods as you can see in this graph

Most governments are protecting the citizens and requiring labelling of GMO foods. But the general public in America does not even know  what GMO is;

We need the FDA to regulate the GMO foods, so that we have a choice. We need the FDA on the people’s side for once and make labelling of GMO foods mandatory.

It´s time for spring cleaning!

Is it true that we have more than one brain?  These ideas come from a pioneer in the research field Dr. Gershon. He writes about why we can feel in our stomach feelings as anxiety, fear and anger. The main reason is that serotonin ,that is like a messenger to the brain, is stored in the stomach. When we repress the feelings that our gut is trying to tell us about , we can cause ourselves to be sick. Some believe that all dis-eases come because of poor diet, lack of rest too much stress and repressed anger or repressed feelings. I simply love Charlotte Gerson, she is my role model. I want to be like her when I am 90!!

The body has remarkable healing powers, we only need to unleash the power.

If you don´t have anything else planned on this saturday night, This is a film by 15-year-old Garret, called the Beautiful truth. It is about the Gerson therapy and health issues like how amalgam in fillings can deprive people of their health. The issue of food additives like MSG and aspartame is touched and the issue of GMO foods and much more! It is remarkable to witness the denial in the medical profession that say Dr. Gerson therapy is a hoax. If I had to choose today I would choose Dr.Gerson´s method without hesitation!

Dr. Lustig has also been on 60 minutes talking about his research. It is inspirational to hear him talk against the food industry. He is stepping on many toes. My prediction is that there will be  a massive kickback from those who have no sense of social responsibility  and poison their fellow-men guilt free.

The first video I saw by Dr. Lustig is one hour and twenty-nine minutes. It is mind-blowing. He is turning everything we have believed about calorie intake before upside down.

So why do I think this is a big deal? Sugar is a drug. Why do I say that? I have been a drug addict and my drug of choice was sugar.The “problem” is that I did not gain weight. That sounds delightful doesn´t it?  You know what?  My body doesn´t  think so. Thanks to an excellent dentist the consequences can not be seen. The damage to my digestive system is something I have to pay attention to every day. Sugar overconsumption is not  friendly to the body, not even if you don´t gain weight..

But all in all I am thankful for the lesson. I have only one life. I have to try to live it in harmony with my body and my surroundings.
